A Sandhill Crane dances and leaps holding a stick he has picked up from a sandbar. During their spring sojourn in the Platte River Valley this type of display is not uncommon. Perhaps he is trying to impress a potential mate with his antics or just being exuberant on a pleasant spring morning.
