Cranes
Morning Beaks
A pair of Sandhill Cranes on a Platte River sandbar preen in the early morning light, before they leave the river for a day in the nearby fields. These birds often spend an hour or two during the early morning hours dabbling, grooming, and socializing in the shallows and on the sandbars of the river channel.
