An early cold front descends upon the Smoky Mountains spreading a shroud of mist and heavy frost on the upper slopes. As it turns the warm colors of autumn to the white and gray of winter we realize that the pleasant and comfortable days of fall will soon be swallowed by the harshness of the comming season.
