Colors Along the River

Brush, weeds, and wildflowers adorn a dry channel of the Platte River in Late August. During many summers the river channel dries out allowing these temporary plants to take over the riverbed until the fall rains and end of the irrigation season allow the river to recharge and fill the channels in time for the annual fall migration of waterfowl.
