The July sunrise outlines the distinctive sandstone formations at Toadstool Geologic Park, in the Ogallala National Grasslands of northwestern Nebraska. The area recieves less than 16 inches of annual rainfall, much of which comes in heavy downpours durning thunderstorms.The area has also yielded a significant number of prehistoric fossils.
